Hinata's Secrets

Hinata thought she had secrets.

Surely nobody knew how much she loved Naruto. She watched him from a distance. She hardly ever spoke to or about him. Only watching, wishing, trying to catch her breath. Surely nobody knew.

Neji knew. He could see it.

Definitely nobody knew that she and Shino had a private understanding. She had no one to tell, and Shino was the embodiment of discretion . Nobody could possibly know that they had slipped into the habit of meeting by the river one hour before their team trained. He never took off his glasses and she never spoke, but she was the only person who could make him cry out, temporarily losing control of the kikaichu. Definitely, nobody knew.

Kiba knew. He could smell it.

No one could possibly know that she and Kiba shared intimate evenings. On nights away from Konoha, nights the three of them were on missions, waiting for Shino to finally fall asleep only heightened their eventual pleasure. Many people knew about Kiba’s skills and experience, but nobody knew about the quiet noises that would escape when Hinata’s body glided on top of Kiba’s, her hands gripping his as he lightly dug his nails into her hips. They couldn’t possibly know.

Shino knew. He could hear it.

Nobody could ever know her deepest secret. Nobody would ever know about the glances and accidental touches she shared with Neji. She kept that night they shared in the forest a secret from herself, hiding the echoes of their animalistic cries in the deepest corners of her memory. This secret in particular, nobody could ever know.

Naruto knew. He could feel it.

Hinata had no secrets.
