Time to Fly
Several months had passed since Naruto and Hinata had left Konoha without a trace. The search parties had all ended and they had truly become missing-nins. No one could believe that the Heiress to the Hyuga-Clan and boy with the demon in his belly would run make a run for it. But in all due time, things would catch up with them. For each step they took a hunter would get closer.
"Naruto-kun, we have lived here in the Sand village for two months now, I think its time we should move," Hinata stated as she finished pulling back her long indigo hair. Since they had left, her young girl body had blossomed into a beautiful woman's body. Each curve was only to be covered by muscle from all the daily training she received.
"Hinata, I am starting to get really attached to this place. I mean with having Gaara keeping our where abouts and identies a secert, we could probably stay here," Naruto objected, checking the supplies in his packs.
"I know thats all well and good but if Gaara gets caught keeping us here, he will be in terrible trouble, and besides, you were the one that said don't stay in one place to long," Hinata reminded Naruto of his own words before she pulled her rabbit shaped mask over her face.
"I understand, but I mean we got a home, food and good work. Since Gaara put us into the Anbu class here, we wear masks so no one knows who we are!" Picking up his own fox shaped mask, Naruto covered his smiling face. Though his hair had grown into a glorious mane, Naruto looked more mature but still resembled the boy who was cursed by the Kyubbi.
"Listen lets talk about this when we get back from our missions," Hinata stated as she picked up her pack and headed out the door. "I will see you when I return." And with the blink of an eye she was gone. Naruto always let her go first out the door before making his own exit. It was times like this that maybe him remember what a shy and quiet girl Hinata was.
"You have changed so much on our journey," Naruto whispered, remember back when he first had Hinata approach him about leaving the village with him.
-----
"Naruto-kun...where are you going?" Hinata whispered softly almost to low to hear. Naruto had on his back pack and his headband off. It was truly unlike him to even want to leave the village.
"Hinata...I didn't expect you to be here," Naruto rubbed the back of his head looking a bit surprised. He held his backpack with his other hand as slumped over looking down at the ground. "Listen Hinata, ever since Jiraya's murder, things have changed in the village. Strange people have been coming in and out of the village. Kakashi-sensai has been sent on a mission that will keep him away for a while. And with him gone, that just proves something is going to happen."
Hinata looked into Naruto's eyes for the first time, seeing the pain of his master's death and the trauma he was dealing with on the inside. "Naruto-kun...if you are leaving...then I want to come with you!" Hinata blurted out. Her hands were sweaty and her lips were shaking. It the hardest thing for her to say, but she knew if she didn't go with him she would loose him forever.
"Hinata, this isn't a game, and I don't want you to be in danger. Or have to look over your shoulder at every turn..." Naruto tried his best to talk Hinata out of her words only have her stare down at him with a hard solid look.
"You wont change my mind, this time I am going to stand up Naruto-kun," though Naruto was usually dense to such emotions for the first time he truly understood that he meant alot to Hinata, for her to stand up to him.
"Alright, I guess no matter what I do, you wont change your mind," with that the two ninjas ran into the forest, having the cover of darkness conceal their trail.
------
"God...I forgot about that memory," Naruto shook his head. "I guess its time for me to go see Gaara." And with that Naruto headed out the door taking one last look at his small apartment he shared with Hinata. A small bed just big enough for two people rested against the right wall, while a tiny kitchen took up half the left part of the room. And in the middle of the room rested a dinning table with the morning breakfast dishes still on it. "Maybe it is time to move again."
