Rumble in the Land of Rain!

Rumble in the Land of Rain!

He stares at her, from afar…

…afar meaning about almost a mile away from his apartment in the Hidden Leaf Village. With Akamaru standing next to him on the table, Kiba stares almost mindlessly out of his window, arms on the table holding his head up, and a look of wonderment in his eyes. The woman he’s staring at, Anko Mitarashi; one of the head Jonin trainers at the academy. He’s heard the rumors; how her training tactics border more on insanity than intensity, and he’s seen them first hand as she’s dealt with Naruto on several occasions, including at the Chunin Exams. Still, for some reason he can’t take his eyes off of her.

Not even to notice the shinobi clad in blue & orange barreling towards his window.

“GANGWAY!!!”

Reacting quickly, Kiba grabs Akamaru and leaps out of the way, just as Naruto dives through the window. He bounces off of Kiba’s bed and lands hard on the floor beside it, completely his surprising entrance. “Man, I didn’t know this building was so short.” He utters in pain. “I thought I would hit the roof easily.”

“What is your problem, Naruto!?” Kiba barks at him, with Akamaru barking as well. “Do you just go barging in through peoples’ windows whenever?”

“Geez, what’s wrong with you?” Naruto asks, picking himself up. “It’s not like you were doing anything, just staring out over the village. Who were you staring at anyway?”

Realizing he’s been caught, Kiba opts to change the subject. “Nothing! No one! Look, don’t you have a mission or something…?”

“You were obviously staring at someone.” Naruto insists, walking over to the window. Kiba joins him as Naruto scans the village to see what, or who, has caught Kiba’s attention. “Hmmm…you were looking at Sakura, weren’t you?” He asks with a devious grin.

Sakura was out there, walking along the road back to her quarters. She did look beautiful to Kiba, but seeing her attitude first hand, and the way Naruto & Rock Lee fawn over her, decisively turned him off. “No, I wasn’t looking at Sakura.”

Naruto believes him, and turns his gaze back out the window, where he spots the next candidate. “Ah, so it was Ino you were staring at.” He deduces.

Kiba spotted Ino earlier as well, working in the window of the Flower Shop. She also looks lovely, but with a volatile attitude and a standard of perfection not even a Hokage could meet, he passed. “Look, I wasn’t looking at Ino either.” Kiba tells him. “Now why don’t you…”

“Then who were you staring at?” Naruto interrupts, still scanning the village. After a moment of looking though, he gets his answer. Laying his eyes on the woman fiercely training on school grounds, his eyes widen and his jaw drops. He’s found Anko.

“Don’t tell me you were checking out that Psycho Sensei!” Naruto exclaims.

“Hey! She’s not psycho!” Kiba counters, defending her. “And…I wasn’t checking her out! Why are you still here anyway!?”

“You must be out of your gourd!” Naruto snipes back. “What the hell could you seen in her that…”

“Naruto?”

The sound of a soft, almost angelic voice instantly puts an end to the two’s argument. Turning towards the door, they find where the voice has come from, Hinata. “I…didn’t know…you would be here…”

She blushes slightly, and grins at the sight of him as Naruto just greets her casually. “Oh, hey Hinata. I was—!”

“JUST leaving!” Kiba finishes for him. “And you can jump out the same way you came in?”

“Oh yeah, why don’t you make me!?” Naruto challenges.

The two stare each other down nose-to-nose, which begins to worry Hinata. “Actually, I’m glad you’re here.” She interrupts. “The Hokage has just sent for us. She wishes to see all three of us for a mission.”

Puzzled looks fill Kiba & Naruto’s faces as they turn back to each other. “Huh, a mission?”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“So what is it now?”

Anko stands before Tsunade, in front of her desk. At Tsunade’s side like always is Shizune, her loyal assistant and ‘Pig care-taker’.

“Don’t worry; this won’t be anything like you’re last mission.” Tsunade assures her. “Basically we just have 4 rogue ninja who’ve stolen over a dozen jutsu scrolls from the Village. Ever hear about the Clan of the Wandering Ninja.”

Anko nods her head. “Yeah, they don’t have a village of their own so they roam around stealing from other villages. They say they can imitate any and all jutsu they come in contact with.”

“And what do you think, Anko?” Tsunade asks.

“I think it’s a load of crock.” Anko answers bluntly. “But why ask me to track them down? Any two-bit military squad can easily dispatch with them.”

Tsunade nods in agreement. “True, but the several who’ve stolen the scrolls have taken root within Amegakure.”

A slight gasp exits Anko’s lips as she begins to understand. “Huh, The Village Hidden in the Rain.”

“Exactly.” Tsunade confirms. “And with their recent history of brutal battles they would like to keep out any and all military presence. They’ve already paid in advance, so all you need to do is lead your team…”

“Wait a minute.” Anko interrupts. “My team…”

And as if on cue, four knocks are heard on the door. “Enter!”

The door swings open, and in walk Anko’s assembled team; Hinata, Naruto & Kiba. Naruto enters last and closes the door behind him. But as he turns to see who’s in the room with him, he quickly wishes he were on the outside. “AAAHHH! IT’S PSYCHO SENSEI!!!!”

“WHO’RE YOU CALLING PSYCHO!?!?” Anko yells, pulling out a kunai from her sleeve and flinging it at him in one motion. The kunai splits between Hinata & Kiba and nails Naruto right in his jacket collar, pinning him to the door. The blade is an inch away from his neck.

“You better take it back…” She threatens with a sadistic grin, pulling out another kunai. “…you might just hurt my feelings.”

“OK, I take it back! I’m sorry!” Naruto frantically pleads. “I’m very sorry! You’re not a psycho! You’re sane! Very sane! The sanest person I know!”

“Well, now that you have been introduced, listen up.” Tsunade tells the three Genin. “Naruto, Kiba, Hinata, you three will work as a team under Anko Mitarashi as you pursue and capture several fugitives. You three are already on thin ice from your past mission results, so I expect to hear that you performed up to your full abilities. Am I understood?”

“Yes, Lady Tsunade!” The Genin answer, including Naruto, who frantically tries to pull the kunai out of the door and free himself.

“Don’t worry.” Anko tells Tsunade while turning to her team. “These three will show what they’re worth. Alright troops, we got our marching orders! Pack up and meet me at the Front Gate.”

Reaching the door, Anko grabs the kunai and yanks it away in one pull, freeing Naruto. She then makes her exit as Naruto rubs his neck, uneasy about the positioning of the weapon.

“Geez, with an aim like that, she could do this mission all by herself.” He mutters.

“Actually…” Naruto’s heart stops as he discovers she’s heard him. “…my aim was a little off. I was going for your cheek.”

She continues off down the hall, leaving Naruto to rub the faint scar left on his left cheek from the Chunin Exam where he mouthed off to her. Hinata stands quietly, worried about the condition he’s in. “Naruto…”

Kiba, however, wears an excited grin. He’s always wanted to go on a mission with Kiba, and now’s his golden opportunity. Who cares if he’s gotta deal with Naruto on another mission? This is a dream for him.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Land of Rain is living up to its name today, as a torrential downpour showers Amegakure. The sun has just set over the western horizon, and grey clouds fill the sky. At the Hidden Rain Village’s front gate, two guards stand watch, both of them wearing headbands with a metal protector centered on their forehead. The protectors have four vertical black lines on them, the insignia of the Hidden Rain Village.

As they look down the rugged road that leads from their village entrance to the forest, they spot four figures making their way through the heavily wooded area. As they emerge from under the trees, they’re immediately identified by their headbands. They’re leaf ninja, Anko and her team has made it. Kiba and Hinata have their hoods on, while Anko & Naruto brave the rain. Akamaru is huddled inside of Kiba’s jacket.

As they approach the gate, the two guards follow procedure and block their way. “Stop, State your names!”

Anko groans in disapproval. “I forgot about their policy.” She utters to herself, before answering. “Anko Mitarashi from the Leaf Village. I am with Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Naruto Uzumaki!”

“What is the nature of your visit?”

“To catch some ninja scum who’ve hidden out in your village.” Anko answers nonchalantly.

The guards turn to each other and nod in agreement, hearing about the criminals who’ve sneaked in a few days ago. “And how long will your visit take?”

“A day if I’m lucky.” Anko utters. “Now are we done with 20 questions?”

The two guards nod their heads, before opening the front gate to her and her team. “Welcome to Amegakure, the Village Hidden in the Rain. We hope you enjoy your stay.”

Anko simply rolls her eyes and waves her team to follow her in, which they do. As they walk through the gate, Hinata becomes infatuated with the surroundings. “I never knew that the Rain Village was so industrial.”

“It was, but not anymore.” Anko explains. “Amegakure was a prospering village, but for some reason many of its ninja decided to go rogue, cutting their ties here. The Third Great Shinobi War didn’t help, either.” Her tone turns serious and almost caring. “This land has seen its share of battles to last a dozen lifetimes.” Naruto, Hinata & Kiba all lower their heads, realizing the pain that this land has been through. Anko quickly snaps them out of it though, realizing there’s a mission to be completed.

“Alright, let’s take our vantage point!” She orders, pointing up to an oak tree which stands about 7 stories tall. “Up there! We can scout out the entire village and search for those rogue ninja.”

Taking their orders, the three Genin watch as Anko traverses up the gigantic tree, leaping from branch to branch. They then follow her movements, climbing up carefully until they reach a branch that’s about several meters thick, more than enough to hold their weight. Looking down, they see that Anko is right; they have an almost birds’ eye view of the Village.

“Start scanning, troops…”

And they do. Naruto checks out the east end of the Village, Hinata scans the north, Anko watches the south and Kiba takes the west. “Akamaru, stand guard and make sure no one surprises us.”

With a loud ‘bark’, Akamaru does that, hopping out of Kiba’s jacket and onto the branch, standing guard. “Keep a diligent eye.” Anko informs her team. “They could be anywhere in this town.”

They remain diligent, and patient…

…But as over an hour passes, that patience starts to wear thin, especially for Kiba. “This is getting us nowhere.” He remarks. “We should be on the ground scouting this town. I can track their scent and…”

“Being on ground level isn’t a tactical advantage.” Anko tells him. “Up here, we can take them by surprise.”

“I don’t need to surprise.” Kiba says. “Most of their abilities are fake. I can take them head on.”

Anko just grins to herself and chuckles a bit. “Hmm, is that so…”

Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, Anko disappears from sight. In another blink, she reappears behind Kiba, kunai drawn and in her hand and her arm around his chest. She positions the kunai an inch from Kiba’s neck, startling him. “So, are you saying the element of surprise isn’t useful? Because I believe it is.”

Nervousness passes through the young Genin, but he tries his best not to let it show. “No…I’m not.” He answers firmly.

Anko just grins, seeing right through the ruse. But as her eyes scan his body language, she notices a budding erection from Kiba. “You’re…you’re getting aroused by this, aren’t you?” She utters in his ear.

“N-no…”

“Don’t lie to me.” She tells him. “Especially when you’re lie detector’s working down there. First time you had a woman this close to you? First time you’ve felt a pair of breasts against you?”

That wasn’t the case for Kiba, especially since he’s usually the one to catch Hinata when she’s thrown or falls for Team Kurenai. But it is the first pair he’s felt against them as big as Anko’s. He begins to sweat a little, but maintains a tough disposition. But that disposition begins to waver as Anko slowly slides her hand down his torso. She reaches the bulge in his pants and grips it gently, adding to the awkwardness.

“Hmm, you’re working with a pretty nice package down here.” She compliments. “Almost Jonin-size.” She starts to work her hand around, stroking the bulge. “Don’t feel like you’re left out of the party Kiba, go ahead and cop a feel of your own.”

He hesitates for a moment, believing this to be a trick, a setup for him to get pummeled like she’s done Naruto. But he also thinks that this might be his only chance. Deciding to go for it, he lets his right hand slip underneath her trench coat, and onto her firm backside. His heartbeat doubles as he squeezes it, bringing a low moan from Anko’s lips.

“So doggy-boy is good with his hands, too.” She comments. “Mmmm, very good…”

Anko continues massaging the bulge in Kiba’s pants, as he closes his eyes and sinks his fingers into her plump backside. The fondle-fest continues for moments more, before an unwelcome voice is overheard.

“MAN, I’m getting bored!”

Separating from each other, they turn towards the base of the branch to see Naruto sitting there, still staring out over the Village. “Kiba’s right, we should be down there kicking butt!”

“Hey, instead of complaining, maybe you should continue your watch.” Anko recommends, before vanishing from Naruto’s sight. Before the ninja can even blink, she appears right behind him. “Or maybe you need a little…motivation…”

Anko then offers her own special form of motivation, by having a huge snake appear on the left side of Naruto’s face, which turns pale white at the sight of it.

“AAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!”

He scrambles for his life away from her, wrapping his arms around Hinata’s waist and cowering there. Hinata immediately blushes and gives a soft smile, happy just to have him holding her, even if it is out of fear.

Anko laughs at Naruto’s actions, as the snake morphs back into her left arm. “Who would’ve guessed that Genjutsu Kurenai taught me would work so well.” She says. “Eh, but you got a point. This is getting us nowhere. Looks like we have to draw them out. Besides, I could use some food in my gut. Let’s move out!”

“Right!” Naruto detaches himself from Hinata and makes his way down the tree with Kiba & Akamaru on his tail. Hinata is about to join them when Anko stops her.

“So, Kurenai was right, huh?” She says.

Hinata turns to Anko confused. “I…I beg your pardon, Anko sensei?”

“About you and Naruto.” Anko clarifies. “You really like the numbskull, don’t you?” Hinata begins to blush again, as she subtly nods her head. “Well have you told him yet?”

Hinata shakes her head. “Kurenai sensei told me I must remain patient and…”

That comment causes Anko to burst into hysterical laughter. “Ha-Ha! Fuck that!” She says, shocking Hinata with her language. “Should’ve known Kurenai would play the hypocrite. If you only knew how aggressive she was going after Asuma…”

Hinata gives a gasp in shock. Her sensei, the honest, calm and collective Kurenai, chasing after a man? “Here…” Anko reaches into her trench coat and pulls out a small booklet before handing it to Hinata. “If you want Naruto, follow what’s in that book. I guarantee he won’t be able to stay away from you.”

Hinata takes the booklet, and as Anko begins to descend the tree, she opens it up to take a look. Immediately she turns away blushing, in shock from the graphic photos the magazine displays. Using her chakra, she skillfully runs down the side of the tree, quickly joining her teammates at the bottom. Once on solid ground though, intrigue begins to get the better of the female Hyuga, and her eyes go back to the pages in the magazine…where they stay as she walks along with her team.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Golden Dumpling Restaurant, one of the finest establishments in the Land of Rain. Anko & her team walk in through the swinging doors and quickly commandeer a table near the middle of the room. They all sit down in a circle around the table, Hinata remaining close to Naruto of course, just as a server walks over.

“May I help you?”

“Yeah, a bowl of Sweet Bean Soup for me.” Anko requests. “And my team will have your finest ramen.”

The server writes down the order and hurries off to fulfill it, as Naruto’s attention turns to Hinata & her magazine. “Hey, what exactly are you reading there, Hinata?”

Panic pulsates throughout the Genin girl’s body, as she quickly hides the magazine under the table. “Nothing! It’s nothing! Nothing important!”

Naruto grows suspicious of Hinata’s actions, but a sudden jarring pain in his ear quickly removes it. “Don’t you know it’s impolite to intrude on a girl’s privacy?” Anko asks menacingly, holding & pinching his ear.

Naruto turns to her and spots the same maniacal grin she had during the Chunin exams, and panics. “OK, I’m sorry! I won’t intrude!”

“Good boy.” She says, releasing her hold. As Naruto rubs his ear, she flashes a quick smile at Hinata, who warmly smiles back before going back to her reading. The happy feelings are cut short though, as four men clad in black approach Anko.

“I think you should take your orders to go…”

Instantly, Naruto and Kiba slowly rise, readying for an attack. But Anko puts up her hand, halting their movement. “I would, but I haven’t had a thing to eat all day. Plus the décor is rather lovely here.”

The man directly behind Anko puts his hand on her shoulder. “I don’t think you catch my drift. Leave this village…now.”

Anko just chuckles to herself and turns to her team. “Guys, it looks like we’ve found the rogue ninja.”

Upon hearing those words, the man lifts Anko from the table. Naruto, Kiba & Hinata prepare to launch an attack, but the man holds them at bay by holding a kunai close to Anko’s neck.

“One move and your leader gets it!” He threatens. “Now, all of you, put your hands where we can see them.”

Anko sighs softly, feeling herself defeated. “Well, I guess you got me.”

Complying, she slowly raises her arms to be in plain sight. But unfortunately for her captor, he sees dual twin pythons rising from in front of her, ready to strike.

“AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! SNAAAAAKES!!!!!!”

“Heh, gets them every time.” She breaks free from her hold and plants a side kick into his gut. Naruto then follows up with a jumping spin kick, which propels him through the window and outside of the restaurant, in the rain.

Anko then turns to the other three rogue ninja, and announces herself. “Game’s over! I’m placing you under arrest for the theft of the Leaf Village scrolls!”

The three ninja immediately back away, fearing the worst. “They’re Leaf Ninja! I knew Konoha would send them after us.”

“We must escape, before they send the ANBU next!”

And like scalded dogs, they quickly flee out through the swinging doors. But Naruto remains hot on their tail. “You’re not going anywhere!”

Leaping through the swinging doors, he intends to take at least two out with a jumping kick. But one of them spots him, and pulls out a black orb from his vest.

“Fire Style: Sun Flare Jutsu!”

With Naruto in mid-air, he shoves the orb into his chest, just as it erupts in blinding white light.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!”

Naruto drops to the ground, his jacket smoldering with a large burn mark on the front. He holds his face and rolls around in pain, as the rest of Team Anko emerges from the restaurant. Hinata’s the first to spot the fallen Genin on the ground.

“No…NARUTO!!!”
