Heat

Chapter One: Problems

Naruto knew he needed someone to confide in but since Jiraiya had died he wasn't sure who to trust, the Third Hokage had been reluctant to tell anyone they didn't have to, Kakashi still hadn't a clue. His own perversion had been considered, though Naruto trusted the Copy Nin with his life he wasn't so sure about his body. Jiraiya had only been chosen out of desperation when the Hokage had died. Jiraiya had cared for him when he was an infant and though he may be perverted he was also a legendary Sanin. But the sanin had been serious when the need arose, proving he could be trusted, he always locked Naruto away before the change so he wouldn't be tempted, after all lifetime commitment wasn't really his cup of sake. Naruto had a huge secret, and now he had no one who could help him. And now that the time for 'it' was coming he had to decide what to do. Naruto had to find someone to help him or there would be trouble.

Sakura knew that for some reason Naruto always spent a couple of days alone, she wasn't sure why, she would have thought it was the anniversary of someone's death but it never fell on the same day just the same month, always in June. She had pestered him more in the last two years, she had gotten closer to him as well, but he still just laughed and told her not to worry, he just wanted a couple of days to himself. But why?

Naruto had seen the looks Sakura had been giving him, she was too curious, he had to find someone he could talk to, he decided to go to Kurenai. He walked to her apartment and then dodged behind a dumpster quickly, Shikamaru and Ino walked by apparently just leaving Kurenai's home. As he watched them he couldn't help notice the brunette's broad shoulders, shaking his head he frowned, "Damn fox!" He hadn't much time left now tomorrow or the next day, he could feel 'it' coming.

Kurenai was surprised to see Naruto at her door, "Naruto, what brings you here? Come on in, Asu is sleeping though so we have to be quiet." Naruto walked over to the baby basket on the floor near Kurenai's favorite chair, he looked at the tiny fist clutching the blanket's edge. He wanted to pick the baby up so bad, 'yes it's getting close'. He sat down and then when Kurenai did too he took a deep breath,

"Kurenai-sensei, you know I'm the vessel of Kyuubi, the nine tail fox right?" She nodded, "Naruto, is there something wrong, is Kyuubi giving you problems?" Naruto gave a reluctant smile, "Well... no more than normal. Kurenai-sensei I have a problem, the old man used to help me, and then when he died, Ero-sennin was there, but now no one but me knows and Granny is so busy. Kurenai did you know that Kyuubi is female?"

Kurenai watched the young man as he seem to be trying to decide how to explain whatever it was that bothered him. "Yes, I had heard the Third mention she was, is that what this is about? Is she causing some kind of female problem?"

Naruto looked into her eyes, his bright blue eyes were glistening with unshed tears, "Kurenai-sensei no one can know what I'm about to tell you, no one. Once a year, in June, Kyuubi goes into heat. You see, I really didn't come up with the sexy jutsu by myself, it's what I look like while I'm in heat. Once a year, for twenty four hours I turn into a girl, and I'm a very horny and very fertile girl. I have to hide from all men, my pheromones go off the charts. The Old man and Jiraiya always locked me up with some food, but now they're gone and if some poor guy shows up while I'm in heat, I'll attack him, and then I'll be a girl until I've weaned my baby. I'll have a baby Kurenai-sensei, I'll practically rape some poor guy. Most people already think I'm some sort of monster, if they found this out, they all will think that. Or someone will decide to hold me to breed 'demon kids'. But my baby will be just a normal child, Kyuubi only causes the heat, she won't really have an effect on the baby."

Kurenai was almost in shock, she had never guessed. The poor boy was almost in tears, she figured his hormones must be heightened, "Naruto, how soon are we talking here?" He wiped at his cheek with his sleeve as a tear ran down it, "The way I'm feeling now... probably tomorrow or the next day, they always locked me up for around three days just to be on the safe side." Kurenai nodded and then taking his hand she patted it, giving him a look of a woman who had a young baby, she understood his desire to protect any child that might be born. 'He'd already been through so much', she thought to herself, 'and now this, he really is a strong soul'.. "Don't worry Naruto, I'll think of something, alright?"
