Can you see my Heart?
My first SasukexNaruto! Yay!
So, I came up with this while waiting impatiently for my fav authors on here to update, and while listening to Apologize by One Republic, it was there.
I don't own Apologize by one republic.
I also don't know how this is going to progress completely yet, but there is an idea thread hanging somewhere.
Chapter One
Fingers glided against the wall seeking passage, direction. It felt cold, rough as he massaged the texture of the paint. His feet pawed carefully along the floor, its sound silenced by the lush carpet that only muted swooshes as he passed through. The expanse of the hall with the voices bouncing of the walls, meshed with the scents that were assaulting his nostrils.
There was a consistently firm grip on his right arm but knew not of whom it belonged to, but the pressure confirmed that the person wasn’t there to harm him and his fear dissipated. Then the wall stopped and they entered a huge opening by the chatter of voices again.
It was deafening for a fleeting moment, then he was at ease as the hand let go, alerting him that he had arrived and he sat down, apprehensively batting away his nerves as he straightened his back and guided his fingers over the keys. It was like coming home when he felt the smooth ivory; it made the hairs on the back of his hands stand on end.
All was quite now, not a soul was breathing, almost afraid to interrupt the mesmerizing silence that had coated the audience. As the first note of the song ‘Apologize’ was sung by the piano, the pianist could feel something wrapping itself around him and lifting him up as he continued playing, his senses blocking out everything around him.
I'm holding on your rope,
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
You tell me that you need me
Then you go and cut me down, but wait
You tell me that you're sorry
Didn't think I'd turn around, and say...
The raven who sat in the audience was not just spellbound by who was playing, but as Sasuke watched that golden head so many feet below him, a wayfaring emotion tugged at his chest. Was this the same person that he knew from so many years ago? The same Naruto whose delightful skin he had longed for under his touch everyday?
“It couldn’t be,” were the barely audible words that slipped pass his lips, his eyes frozen in fixation. The same words that his brain was starting to strongly oppose, as his nose remembered the odors of fresh citrus that would be forever embedded into the memories of his teenage years.
Sasuke envisioned his body standing behind that strong back, which stood stiff as the pianist played. His eyes would meet the ear length of blond hair that brushed a tanned nape; his fingers were twitching to get one last memorial signature of.
He could see himself reaching, but being pulled back, withheld from such a pleasurable advantage. Of course the scent, his scent will ever remain with Sasuke, abundant for his senses to detect from their lovemaking, from the soft times they’d spent together, from the time he’d shattered the porcelain heart of his lover in irreparable fragments.
It would remind him and continue to be the bridge to his unhappiness. Something clicked in his mind and it occurred to him, almost subtly that this song being played, was for him.
It’s too late to apologize
It’s too late
It’s too late to apologize
It’s too late.
What kind of penance can someone like me give; to be forgiven and forget the past as a wind blows over the sea?
“Some things are long forgotten but ever remembered,” sighed Sasuke. His hand absently hovered over his heart, the pain in his chest spiking with every beat and note played.
A mirage of images played in his mind’s eye this time, basing a collage of their past lives.
Him holding Naruto.
Kissing him.
Snuggling up to that blond hair at the break of dawn, his blanket of comfort.
“Otouto, are you alright?” Itachi was looking at him with concern, and as much as He wanted to tell him brother everything and unbind the ropes that castrated his humanity, the cold demeanor slid back unto the mask that had not even shown a flicker of emotion since he’d seen Naruto.
He found that he was counting down the moments for the concert to end, yet at the same time knowingly unaware of what he was going to say to someone he hadn’t seen in ten years.
A long time for a lot to pass between them, further wearing at the connection that they’d shared. A lot of time to miss things that had transpired in Naruto’s life that Sasuke had failed to be a part of. He was going down there and getting his past lover back, but more importantly, his best friend.
His last decade had been blindsided after Naruto had left. He became even more reserved than he was before, learning to heal as the months passed. He had adapted to going through one night stands with both sexes, but never quelling the insatiable need he had for the blond. His blond. Too often had he caught his eyes looking into a personality void face and seeing Naruto, the happy blond that had all the smiles in the world to give. Damn that dobe for turning him into a hot mess!
I’m holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground.
He felt like he was the one being suspended, controlled like a marionette for the last years of his life. Now was the time to sever it.
He was going to get him back; no matter what.
Please REVIEW! It would help me to know if to continue this or not, or if it's even good.
