Fair is fair, a deal is a deal

Someone once asked me what my dream was in life.

My reply was always “I dream to become Hokage” I never really had one answer for it, sometimes it was so I would be loved by everyone, sometimes it was so I would be accepted.

I never had a one true answer for my dream, It was just a dream, but as I lay in the wake of destruction, in the pool of blood; blood not from myself, but from my friends, from my family, from my village.

I finally had an answer, I knew why I wanted to become Hokage:

I wanted to protect, protect my village, my 'family', my friends, I wanted to protect the people I cared for, the people who had never accepted me originally, I wanted to protect them, I wanted to protect those who were close to me, those who hated me, I wanted to be Hokage to protect my people.

I open my eyes towards the blood red sky, as the rain fell upon my body, masking the tears that ran down my whisker cheeks, I had wanted to protect everyone in the village, and so far I had failed my personal mission, I had failed

“Kyuubi” my voice cracked, I was so sore, after fighting for so long my body had finally become exhausted, my body refused to move, every muscle in my weak useless limbs refused to move

“Kyuubi” I repeated, fearing the fox demon inside hadn't heard me, but I was mistaken, she had heard, she heard me, she knew what I wanted, she was just refusing to answer me, she wanted me to reconsider my request, she could read me like an open book

“Kyuubi, you damn fox, answer me” I closed my eyes, and allowed myself to go to the caged beast in my mind, my eyes darkened towards her, my fist pounding against the bars

“Coward! Answer me!” she refused to look at me, her red eyes stared towards her paws, as if she were in deep thought, my hands began to shake against the bars

“I'll do anything! Please! Help me!” our eyes met, I felt all the courage inside me begin to fade, my hands shook against the bars again, tears streaming down my face

“Your life”

“What?”

“Your life.... In exchange for those already lost... Your life” I felt frozen in terror and shock towards the demon before me, in exchange for those already lost, for the safety of my people, my friends, my village, my family, was it worth my own life?

“Time is an issue boy! What will you do!?”

“In exchange for my life.. Those who died will come back?... And the demon will be destroyed?”

“Correct”

“Then what the fuck are you waiting for!?”
